Being on vacation is better. ;) I don't play games as often as I used to, I spend enough time looking at a screen during working hours already. But it's fun when I can get into it without distractions.

Here's more! I finally got through Auric Basin and moved on to Tangled Depths.

The holo-disk search was a bit of a pain, since sometimes you hit the marker on the map and it still wasn't triggering, which meant you had to go up or down somewhere. This Nord was easy to find though.

This was one of those harder places to find. I had to use my glider's updraft mastery to get up here.

Now we're getting somewhere!

Components? I guess I'll have to fight again.

It's working!

The arrow pointing down is a lot more subtle than the green swirl on the minimap. :P

Oh no, not another spiders' lair...

Quick! Tell me before you die!

I'm trying to focus on the main quest of Living World Season 2 to get to the Heart of Thorns storyline as soon as possible, but they don't make that easy. I need to get a specific mastery first before I can progress further, and there are so many distractions...

Just adjusting my clocks for the end of daylight saving time, and readjusting myself for an additional seven hours of jet lag. Although I ate some pumpkin soup while on vacation.

They talk about N. Korea so much on the news these days
So far it's only been posturing and hot air. You don't notice a thing in South Korea if you're not following the news, no heightened security or anything. As for history, I visited the War Memorial in Seoul before I flew back since I had enough time left, and it was quite an eye-opener for some of my fellow travelers who were with me on that excursion. Not just because of the exhibitions about the Korean War of the 1950s which is pretty much forgotten in Holland despite having participated with a ship and an infantry battalion, but also the older stuff the Koreans pioneered with like the turtle ship (a 16th century armored ship, a fleet of which devastated an attacking Japanese fleet) and 15th century multiple rocket launchers. I returned home yesterday and I've got some 1100 photos to sort out so it'll take a little while, but I'll post some when I can.

I've been quite busy during my trip here. I'm on Jeju Island now; I've been in Sokcho on the east coast and the nearby nature park there, in Wonju, Gyeongju, and after a quick ride on the KTX high-speed train to the southern harbour city of Busan. The USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier happened to be visiting while I was there; that ship is huge! I've also seen a lot of sights of course, been on a bike ride through the countryside, walked a lot, climbed a lot of stairs to temples, viewpoints and other high places, etc. etc. One more full day on Jeju and I'll be returning to Seoul for a day until I need to fly back home. Cheers and see you later!

Hi all! I'm on vacation in South Korea right now. I was in Panmunjon and the DMZ yesterday to experience that old Cold War feeling from back in the eighties in Europe, it's quite similar. I also saw some sights and tasted some nightlife in Seoul. Tomorrow I'll be heading east to a fishing village and visit a nature reserve. I'll upload some pictures of my stay here after I return home. See ya!

Hello Americans! You're in our (Dutch/European) thoughts. This is a public health message.

Btw does anyone remember what those embedding codes were for videos? I forgot.

I still remember how to type them without needing to see those yellow faces, as I'm sure most of us do, so don't get stressed over it. ;)

Well it was the hurricane that knocked my phone out.  It's been a mess, I still don't have a telephone number!
You mean that audio device for voice communication? Hasn't that gone the way of the telegraph and snail mail by now? Who needs it anymore. :P

Well I'm glad that was the extent of it as far as you're concerned. I hope nobody else here was too badly affected. 2017 turns out to be a real disaster year for the US, with the storms and the fires and all.
Don't forget the president if you can call him that.
Forgetting that is impossible. I didn't want to make this political but yeah, Jan. 20th was the first disastrous day of the year. And we thought at the time that 2016 was terrible. How little did we know.

because I can. It feels like there's a lurk memory hole of a month or so but I can't put my finger on it. I don't want to lose my finger. :blank:
